2020 Calgary Stampede Cancelled

NFR2020 Calgary Stampede Cancelled

We are extremely sad to announce that we are unable to host the 2020 Calgary Stampede. While this is a difficult announcement to share, we know it is the right thing to do.

We promise this does not mean the end of Stampede Spirit in our community this year, and we are now shifting our focus to fall, winter and spring events at Stampede Park, as well as planning for the 2021 Stampede.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Keep your hats on!

Rodeo Competitors,

On account of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Alberta has banned all gatherings of more than 15 people for an indefinite period of time and the City of Calgary has declared a state of local emergency. These steps, as well as our continuing concern for the health and well-being of our community, means we are unable to host the 2020 edition of the Calgary Stampede.

We are hopeful that you recognize how challenging this process has been for the entire organization and that we have not taken this direction lightly. You are a valued part of the Calgary Stampede family, and we are grateful for all that you do for Rodeo and the Calgary Stampede. We look forward to working with your association to deliver amazing rodeo experiences for our fans, community and the world in the future.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Please take care of your family, friends, and community during these challenging times.
