Dear WPRA Members,

As you know, we are living through unprecedented times with the COVID-19 pandemic upon us. Yes, it is affecting all of us in some way or another. It is affecting us personally and financially, as well putting a pause on achieving many of our goals and dreams. With that in mind, I would like to take a few minutes to share with you what the WPRA has been doing during these difficult times.

The WPRA continues to keep its website updated with the official status of rodeo (and other event) postponement or cancellations. Rescheduled events are not official until all associated parties agree and business is back on track. The decision to postpone or cancel a rodeo involves active dialog between the rodeo committees, the PRCA, and the WPRA. Rodeo committees (and other events) have to juggle local and state guidelines or mandates, facility availability (for future dates), and sponsorships. It is not solely the decision of the WPRA. The WPRA works hard at being supportive and flexible in these dialogs.

As we move forward, the WPRA will continue to keep our schedule and standings as current as possible with only official information.

Next, as was shared over a week ago, the WPRA office is officially closed. The governor of Colorado ordered that employees of all nonessential businesses comply with a shelter at home mandate. We are in compliance. We will let you know when business can resume.

Meanwhile I am optimistic that we, our rodeo family, will get through this trying time together.
I personally thank you for your patience and understanding.

More importantly, my blessings for your safety and best of health.

Doreen Wintermute WPRA President/CEO
