King Butcher "LK" MD passed away March 4, 2010 3/11/10
Lawrence King Butcher "LK"
MD passed away March 4, 2010 at the Pineville Community
Hospital. A U. S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam
in jungle warfare, he earned a Bronze Star for meritorious
achievement in ground operations against hostile forces
and graduated from OCS Training. A graduate of the University
of Kentucky School of Medicine, Dr. Butcher was a longtime
Obstetrician at the Pineville Community Hospital and
he was totally devoted to his patients. He was a member
of the Kentucky Medical Association and the American
Medical Association. He enjoyed Quarter Horses and Barrel
Racing, was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association
and the National Barrel Horse Association.
LK and wife Jennifer campaigned many successful barrel
horses during their 22 year marriage. Horses such as
1995 World Champion Jr Barrel horse Go For Tears and
2008 Congress Reserve Champion Jr Barrel horse Magnolia
Affirm, to name a few. In addition to AQHA events she
is also a member of the WPRA and competed, placing 4th
in the Derby average in the first every WPRA World Finals.
Jennifer also qualified and competed at the World Finals
in 2009.
LK was Jennifer's biggest supporter and fan. He was
known for his love of their dogs and a love for life.
Dr. Butcher will be greatly missed.
LK was a dedicated supporter of the Bell County Kentucky
Animal Shelter. Donations in his rememberance can be
