World Titles Awarded at WPRA World Finals
By Ann Bleiker
WACO, TEXAS – It was awards day at the WPRA World Finals in Waco, Texas, at Extraco Events Center with world titles celebrated in team roping, tie-down roping, all-around, futurity and derby.

Haiden Thompson
Haiden Thompson cleaned up at the WPRA World Finals winning her second consecutive all-around world title edging the only million-dollar roper in WPRA history Jackie Crawford by $2,754. Thompson won after collecting $9,465 for the year to Crawford’s $6,711. Thompson also picked up her first world title in the tie-down roping again edging Crawford by $520. The title came down to the final round, a round that Thompson won with a time of 12.2 seconds, and Crawford unfortunately finished with a no time.
Thompson won the average at the world finals edging Rylee George. Thompson finished with 38.7 on three head, while George was second with a 49.2. These were the only two ladies out of 27 to post a time in all three rounds.

Jackie Crawford
While Crawford was shut out in these two categories she did pick up her 24th world title in the team roping as a header. This is her fifth world title as a team roping header. She finished the year with $13,052. Finishing reserve was another legend in the game Lari Dee Guy.
Annette Stahl added another team roping heeling to her resume winning the 2026 world title after collecting $11,856. Stahl now has five WPRA world titles to her name winning her previous ones in 2014, 2015, 2021 and 2023. Lorraine Moreno finished as the reserve world champion.
Winning the average at the WPRA World Finals was Kenzie Kelton and Rylie Smith with a total time of 23.2 seconds on three head. Kelton also walked away with the Priefert Chute used during the World Finals after being selected in a random draw during the final performance.

Haiden Thompson
While the world champion in breakaway will be crowned in Las Vegas during the Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka a total of 173 ladies took their shot at the average title in Waco. Riding away with the title was Jaci Hammons with a three-run time of 6.3 seconds. Hadley Thompson, sister of Haiden, finished second in a time of 7.1 seconds.
World titles were also presented to the Futurity 1D, 2D and Derby champions on Saturday in Waco. Taking home the titles were Ashley Peterson on Aint Seen Darlin Yet in the Futurity 1D, Kalie Anderson on Stayln Your Own Lane in the 2D and the 2025 Derby world champion was Patti Hovland aboard Manors Sweet Sting.
While eyes were on the roping arena, action was hot and heavy in the barrel arena with the second round of the permit and card holder race. The top 30 in the average have now earned their spot in the finals on Sunday with Gracen Harman aboard This Guy Will Moonya leading the way with a 30.92 on two runs. Kassie Mowry and CP He Will Be Epic are second with a 31.31 and Steely Steiner on Get Tha Goody is currently third with a 31.39.

Harman takes first round victory in barrel racing at WPRA World Finals, Crawford looking to add world titles to her resume
By Ann Bleiker
WACO, TEXAS – The WPRA World Finals in Waco, Texas, was in full swing on Friday with action in both the barrel racing arena and the roping arena.

Gracen Harman
The day got underway with barrel racing that included the card holder race and the permit only race. Gracen Harman, who recently competed in the Texas Circuit Finals at Extraco Event Center and set a new arena record during that event, took the first round win in the card holder race stopping the clock in a time of 15.40 seconds. She was draw number 134 out of 148 to take the win. She knocked off Steely Steiner, who was draw 37, who had set the bar at 15.60 seconds. Kathy Grimes finished third in a time of 15.67 seconds. All money won this weekend in the card race counts toward the 2026 WPRA World Standings. Second round action takes place starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Chery Pinkston
Chery Pinkston took home the first round in the permit holder race with a 15.749 worth $917. To fill her permit a total of $1,000 must be won and then she will be eligible to buy her WPRA card.
The permit breakaway roping concluded after two rounds with Alyesha Burford taking the title in a time of 5.6 seconds. She placed third in the second round in a time of 2.7 seconds worth $512 and added another $1,537 for the average win. She is now eligible to buy her WPRA card for the 2026 rodeo season.

Jackie Crawford
It was the D-Low Show in team roping on Friday night with Danielle Lowman winning the round heading for fellow breakaway roper Cadee Williams and finishing second heeling for Sarah Angelone. Lowman and Williams stopped the clock in an impressive 5.8 seconds to take the win and pick up $932 each. Angelone and Lowman took second with a 6.1 second run.
Rylee George and Jackie Crawford, who won the first round on Thursday night, finished fifth with a 7.7 second run.
World champions will be crowned in team roping, tie-down and all-around on Saturday evening.
Brighton Bauman wasted no time in the second round of the breakaway roping stopping the clock in an electric 1.6 seconds to add $2,552 to her bank account. Haiden Thompson and former NFBR qualifier Nicole Baggarley tied for second with a 1.9 good for $2,005 each.
Jackie Crawford, who has won 23 WPRA World Titles is well positioned to add up to three more titles by end of day tomorrow. She has already secured the team roping heading title for 2025 and could add tie-down and all-around. She won the round for the second straight night improving on her time from the first round. Crawford stopped the clock in a time of 10.2 to take the win and position herself atop the leaderboard for the average. Rylee George was second in a time of 12.2 seconds.

Jackie Crawford off to a fast start at the 2025 WPRA World Finals
By Ann Bleiker
WACO, TEXAS – Roping was front and center on opening day at the 2025 WPRA World Finals in Waco, Texas. World champions will be crowned in team roping, tie-down and all-around on Saturday evening.

Earlier this year Jackie Crawford became the first WPRA roper to cross the $1 million mark in career earnings with roping money only. She is looking for a big weekend at the WPRA World Finals to add to that total and after the first round she is looking like the 23-time world champion everyone has come to know.
She won the first round in the team roping with fellow breakaway roper Rylee George on the heading side. They stopped the clock in a time of 6.9 seconds. Crawford then switched ends and headed for another WPRA champion Annette Stahl to finish in a tie for second in a time of 7.6 seconds. Crawford added $1,623 to her career earnings in the team roping on night number one in Waco.
She then turned her talents to the tie-down roping winning the round in a time of 11.2 seconds to add another $793. Unfortunately, a broken barrier in the breakaway roping kept her out of the money on opening night in that event.

The Thompson sisters Hadley and Haiden finished second and third in the tie-down roping in times of 12.4 and 13.2 respectively. The reigning world champion Kolby Boyett took fourth in a time of 13.3.
And while the world champion breakaway roper will be crowned in Las Vegas on Dec. 3 at the South Point, there was still plenty of breakaway roping in Waco as WPRA members are looking to get a jump start on the 2026 season.
Winning the first round out of field of 166 in the breakaway roping was Caitlyn Dahm with a 1.9. Dahm added $2,522 to her 2026 earnings as she sets her sights on a trip to Las Vegas a year from now. Finishing in a three-way tie behind Dahm were Jordi Edens-Mitchell, Rheagan Cotton and Madison Outhier with a 2.0. In order to grab a check in the first round ropers had to be 2.2 seconds or faster.
